KIBSD Early Childhood Services

Our mission is for all children to fully participate in age‐appropriate natural environments.

Our vision is to create a warm, welcoming environment where we can teach children and families to love to learn by continually adjusting and adapting to meet their needs. We accomplish this by identifying their strengths, promoting their confidence, supporting independence, fostering communication, and forming positive relationships, which paves the way for a successful life and helps kids reach their full potential.

Our goals are to address/meet the needs of all students by providing them:

  • Functional Communication Skills

  • Ability to Form Relationships

  • Achieve Their Highest Level of Independence

Children may be eligible for the KIBSD Preschool if they qualify for special education services as defined by the Alaska Dept. of Education & Early Development criteria OR Enroll as a peer model with strong communication, personal-social skills, and independence.
